Dr. Joshua Maxwell is a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas. This is where he learned the value of hard work and perseverance by starting and operating a landscape and irrigation business in the scorching Texas heat to pay for his education while attending Texas A&M and University of North Texas. Dr. Maxwell went on to accept a scholarship from Baylor College of Dentistry to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While at Baylor Dr. Maxwell took advantage of the extensive surgical training and the advanced dentistry curriculum available. As a matter of fact, Dr. Maxwell was the first student at Baylor College of Dentistry to use computer aided technology to complete a cosmetic smile makeover case!

Dr. Maxwell is continuously adding to his impressive list of advanced training and makes certain that he remains on the leading edge of dental technology, knowledge and skill. Through extensive, advanced level training and successfully treated peer reviewed implant surgeries, Dr. Maxwell has obtained the distinguished title of Fellow within the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Academy of General Dentistry. In addition, Dr. Maxwell has achieved associate Fellowship status within the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He continues to further his education with advanced laser dental courses while working on fellowships within the field of dental laser dentistry. Dr. Maxwell was the first General Dentist in the Frisco, Texas area to achieve “Premier Preferred Provider” by Invisalign clear aligner braces (usually reserved for Orthodontist). Dr. Maxwell was also voted “Mom Approved Dentist” by the readers of Dallas Child Magazine several times. Dr. Maxwell has been featured several times as “The Face of Frisco Family Dentistry” by Frisco Style Magazine as well as Living Magazine. In addition, Dr. Maxwell has been featured in the 2013 & 2019 D-Magazine Best of Medical Editions.

Dr. Maxwell has been selected as the official team dentist for the Dallas Mavericks’ Legends NBA-D League, as well as the official team dentist of the Dallas Cowboys’ at their Star Training Facilities. Dr. Maxwell is also an active member of the American Academy of General Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, North Texas Dental Society, and the Texas Academy of General Dentistry.

“I love the continual journey of learning while practicing dentistry. I continue to take countless hours of continuing education and advance training courses every year. Dentistry is a labor of love and a true passion of mine. I also enjoy staying well informed of local and national current events.

My greatest passion is for my family. We spend our leisure time at local sporting events, movies and just hanging out. Our family enjoys hobbies such as archery with our compound bows, cycling and “dad joke” telling at the dinner table. We recently moved to Slidell, Texas to enjoy the country life on our farm, raise some cattle, and watch my son play football on Friday nights!”

Biography
Dr. April Kaneira has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. She is committed to improving her patients’ quality of life by delivering superior clinical outcomes and patient education. She has experience in all aspects of general dentistry including dental implants, endodontics, full mouth rehab. She has extensive orthodontic experience with straight wire, lingual, clear and aligner therapy, as well as propel and Healthy Start appliances. She treats her patients as she wants to be treated and focuses on building long term relationships.

She has started, owned, and operated fourteen dental practices in her career and overseen and mentored many other offices and doctors. Her goal with her mentoring has always been to instill clinical excellence and teach doctors to build trust-based relationships with their patients.

Dr. April Kaneira graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. She received her Certificate in Dentistry from the Texas A & M University Baylor College of Dentistry in 2000. Dr. Kaneira is also a member of the North Texas Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Orthodontic Association, and the American Association of Clear Aligners.

In her free time, Dr. Kaneira likes spending time with her husband and two daughters, traveling, sculpting cakes, cycling, and playing with their family pets.

Chad Reynolds is the Regional Operations Manager for our practices, and he brings with him years of experience in dental practice management. His expertise in thedentalfield has earned him opportunities to workas a financial coordinator, practice manager, regional practice manager, and as an affiliations integration specialist.A native Texan, Chadattended the University of North Texas, and hestill resides in the same small town where he grew up. He’s happily married with two children, and he enjoys pursuinghis passion for new technology in his spare time.

Shannon Styer is the lead dental assistant with over 8 years of diverse medical experience that extends from emergency medicine to oral surgery. She is Board Certified in practice management and is finishing a degree in Healthcare Management from the University of North Texas. Outside of studying and work, Shannon enjoys calming activities like going out on the boat, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
